I found this on Youtube:
youtube.com/watch?v=vx6hmSclbRE&
and found it fascinating and quite enjoyable to watch.

As said on screen, not a hard hat in sight. No ear defenders either.

There a retired chap in Newland (Forest of Dean) who has one, we have to cross the line on the footpath, he's like a big kid, but the setup is really well done. He pulls passenger carriages, with no passengers though, as the railway runs around his huge garden.

Got a bit of a buzz when the loco started moving under its own power - like seeing a huge animal coming to life.

I had to laugh at the men all sitting on the metal beam to act as a counter weight as it moved around. No way would that happen now.

Me too; and the big built fellow with the walrus moustache hammering at the anvil!

Just realised; the only chap wearing anything resembling a hard hat was the foreman at 3:28
He had a bowler hat!

Yes, he was great, like a circus strong man.

Sheffield Forge Masters still have a number of accidents each year, so it's got to be a good thing that things have got safer.

I like the inventiveness of them acting as a counter weight.

I thought the finished steel wheels looked quite beautiful once you'd seen the work which went into making them.

Yes. It's good to funnel your energy into something, and let off steam.
