Need something small lightweight and professional for business use.

Not really interested in 50/50 tablet style things, or touch screen.

Won't be downloading loads of picture or watching videos, just need good old, reliable Microsoft Office functionality.

Big memory a plus, but happy with an external hard drive for the sake of battery life and weight.

Any ideas?

Fujitsu Lifebooks are pretty small and have good battery time.

Prepare yourself for the flood of 'buy a £1500 macbook! they don't get viruses and you have to spend this much for office and fb!' replies.

The Dell w the newer faster drive type(forgotten name) has been put forth as the best at the moment by both Which and also PC Pro magazine. The only problem is that hard drive. It may be fast, but it is only 275 Gb which is not big in today's terms. Yet you say not downloading loads, so maybe that is the one to go for. I have wondered about it as I have a spare 1 Tb Samsung fast drive that I could insert into it if there are no problems with actually fitting it.
Plus for all those aesthetes it looks pretty similar to an Apple machine.
