Join us at Kendal Mountain Festival for a very special event. For one morning only, we’re letting Niall Grimes off the leash and setting him loose on all our latest BMC TV films, personalities and star ambassador climbers.

Join us at The Box at 10.30 on Sunday morning (ouch) when Niall Grimes – climber, storyteller and mischiefmaker – will host this one-off event for BMC TV. Revive yourself with free coffee and pastries – or a cheeky Bloody Mary if that’s your bag – then sit back and let Niall take you on a rocky ride through real British adventure.

Features exclusive films, behind-the-scenes footage and plenty of dark humour. Finishes with Operation Moffat, our Banff-award-winning BMC TV film about Gwen Moffat.

Book early. With only 120 seats, The Box is Kendal’s most exclusive venue: a brand-new performing arts facility

You’ll also get:

A chunky BMC TV goody bag
Free coffee + pastries
Special cocktails, served by top climber and mixologist Hazel Findlay
Free entry into a seriously good raffle
Spot prizes

Where and when?

Full film list now confirmed:

The Grading Squad, starring Steve McClure
Ever wondered just how the BMC grades its routes? All is revealed in the behind-the-scenes clip from our Limestone Guide Team. We will then quiz Strong Steve on all things limestone.

Blue Hue
A beautifully filmed short by artist Natasha Brooks, about the joys of year-round naked swimming in the lakes of Snowdonia. Winner of the 2015 BMC Women In Mountain Adventure film competition. Followed by a short QnA with Natasha, where you can ask: wasn’t it really, really cold?

Gaia
In the realms of hard grit, one route stands above them all: Gaia. Your guide to this fabled route will be gritmaster and storyteller Niall Grimes and filmmaker Mike Cheque.

PREMIERE: Damavand, an Iranian Dream
A ski-mountaineering team from the UK set out to climb Mount Damavand, Iran's highest mountain, led by Shirin Shabestari, an Iranian women now resident in London. Edited by Paul Diffley of Hotaches, the film examines the pivotal role mountaineering played in Shirin's upbringing and discover just how much this summit means to her. Shirin and the team will be there to celebrate this premiere.

100 Lakes Extremes
Watch BMC ambassador and all-round rock wad James McHaffie on his quest to solo 100 Lakes Extremes in a day. An exclusive extract from Adam Hocking’s new film. James McHaffie will be there to ask: did you ever get scared?

Behind the scenes with Hazel Findlay
Is Hazel's life as glamorous as we suspect it is? We will find out the truth...

PREMIERE: Kraken
Watch Tom Randall slay the mighty V13 Hartland Roof Crack Project: the Kraken. Your first chance to see this brutal slice of crack climbing, from Hotaches Productions.

Operation Moffat
BMC TV’s big one. Operation Moffat takes inspiration and wit from the colourful climbing life of Britian’s first female mountain guide Gwen Moffat. Writer Claire Carter and filmmaker Jen Randall scramble, swim and barefoot climb through Gwen’s most cherished British landscapes, grappling with her preference for mountains over people, adventure over security, wilderness over tick lists. With new take on landscape photography, archive footage and action sequences this is a film rooted in a real love of wild places. Followed by a QnA with Jen Randall and Claire Carter.

Tickets going fast - see you there.
