Hello. I have a pair of size 42 Scarpa Manta. Older version with Flex ankle but slot for front crampon bails.

how would they run with a pair of old salewa crampons?

Thanks!

Post 'em to me I'll put them on and have a clamber about and see if they come off. Thats what I'd do!

Not ideal, but probably not too bad. The bail at the front of a Manta is rubber, which over time will soften slightly and wear away. It's obviously not as stiff as a proper B3's bail which is usually TPU. This means that in extremis there is more chance of the front bail popping off. Saying that, the image of the crampons makes them look like they're far from 'fixed' so the flexing issue should be minimised.

Personally I would be happy to use them for walking and scrambling or glacier travel, but wouldn't be comfortable climbing ice or mixed routes in them.
