Camera lens adapter thread size?

I picked up a cheap adaptor to use some old Olympus OM series lenses on a Sony A6000. I found the adaptor has a thread on the bottom that looks like it is designed for a tripod but isn't an obvious size. It is a tiny bit bigger than m5 by the look of it and I haven't had a lot of luck with finding a thread guage or with Google.

Any ideas what size it may be?

In reply to Reach>Talent: Camera to tripod fittings are imperial not metric most consumer cameras are fitted with 1/4-20 UNC threads. Larger, professional cameras and lenses may be fitted with 3/8-16 UNC threads, plus a removable 1/4-20 UNC adapter, allowing them to be mounted on a tripod using either standard. If that helps.

Hi, I knew it wasn't a standard tripod mount as it is definitely under 1/4". It is closer to m5 than m6 but I can't find a thread guage or any reference to this size of mount online.

If I can mount it off this it would be improve the balance a bit as the camera is a bit nose heavy with the adaptor, x2 and a fairly heavy old telephoto on it.
