he started it later than the brit who got splatted by a moped so He's got 22 days left to do his 3.6k miles.
Still quite a lot of miles for the mortal cyclists.

A yank and then the Uk one.
As gethin_allen says the uk one got taken out by a moped and was riding one fecking legged for a bit. Think he restarted it after that.

When I heard he got splatted I thought that was the end of that for him, I'm quite surprised he's still going at it despite not having much of a chance to get the record; He's got over 10K miles to do in 8 days.
I guess he could keep going after the year lapses and see if he can get the record for the year from the time he restarted after the accident.

It's Steve Abraham that we're talking about. He kept riding one-legged on a recumbent while his broken leg healed and then officially restarted another one-year attempt in August.
