A bit cheeky , poaching on Talisker's home territory.

Walkers is from Kilmarnock is it not?

A bit of Kilt Rock can be seen in the scene where they walk to the cliff edge.

Do we know if it was all on Skye? That road looks familiar but so do many of the Scottish hill roads.

Twee, cliched and b*gger all to do with whisky. John Lewis started this irritating type of advert and while it might have worked for them, this is just trite.

All the recognisable bits seem to be Skye, the river at 00:18 is the one next to the Slig as well. Not sure about the road at the start.

I don't know much about Whisky, so I just looked it up, and it is just a blend of other whiskys ( I assume of those also owned by the multinational Diagio) ) so it does not have a 'home town ' nor is distilled in any one place, so I guess for them Skye as as good as anywhere else to be associated with- if it sells their whisky.

Still a nice advert though, with "spirit" of lost friend, etc.

Just yet another advert for Skye disguised as a whisky commercial. And showing the same hackneyed (albeit stunning) scenic highlights as all the others. At least Danny Mac bothered to climb a mountain or two. Although he cheated by cycling up them.

I once found myself sitting on a plane next to a grey-haired and senior Scottish bloke. We got chatting and it turned out that he was the Export Director for Johhny Walker on his way home from the Middle East. "So," I asked him, "where IS your biggest export market?"

He laughed and replied: "You already know the answer!"

"Saudi Arabia?" I ventured.

"Spot on."
