Pretty sure I've done an A2 pulley and want to get back to good form as quick as possible so happy to pay for a few sessions of private physio. Any recommendations for physios who understand climbing specific injuries in Manchester?

Many thanks

In reply to James Coulson:

I had a session at Anatomy and they didn't really understand climbing injuries at all. In my experience by far the best investment is Dave Macleod's injury book, especially reading the chapter on injury prevention etc.

Unless it's an incredibly bad injury, chances are, you won't require surgery so rest followed by progressive loading and openhanded climbing would seem to be the way forward. Good luck with rehab!

Sportsmed in Stockport. Tim Deykin is good.

Just endorsing wert's recommendation. Tim is a good sport's physio who has also climbed

Harris and Ross have experience with climbers. Shauna Coxsey sees them at any rate, so they must have some idea what they're doing.

I have been treated by Laura Parker when she worked in Derby, she specialises in hands. I can recommend her highly.

She now works at the Spire clinic http://www.spirehealthcare.com/spire-manchester-hospital/consultants/laura-...

Yes, I've seen Laura Parker. She works with Zaf Naqui and Waqar Bhatti who was at the BMC Climbing Injury Symposium last year. She used to be at Harris and Ross but not sure if she's there anymore.

Anyone know any similar physios further south, Birmingham/Shropshire way?

I thought I'd pulled a tendon in my finger yesterday, but am now of the opinion that it's actually the tendon in the forearm pulling everything else tight and causing the pain in my middle finger, and numbness in the finger next to it. Deep tissue massage on the forearm seems to alleviate the pain and locking of the middle finger, if only temporarily...
I don't know your symptoms, but thought it might be something to bear in mind.

Dave is font 8A/f8b climber - should fit the bill?
In reply to James Coulson:

To hijack the thread - does anyone know of any suitable physios in the Cheshire area? Have previously been to sportsmed and they were very good, worked with Rich. Think I've got a A2 pulley tear on my ring finger, sad times!

Jay.
