Mountaineering Axe length?

In reply to Removed Userherblai: if it's just a walking axe I was taught that when holding in cane position the bottom of your axe should come to around your ankle. I'm 6.2 and use a 66cm as a walking axe. You want to be able to knock snow off your crampons when "balling up" and also maintain contact with the ground comfortably when your walking without having to uncomfortably stoop to low
