Hi all

The opportunity has come up to go to Nepal for a while towards the end of Feb/ beginning of March. We are thinking of trying to do the trek to gokyo. Does anyone know if you can get a TIMS card before arriving in Nepal or in the Khumbu as we'd like to try and maximise time sightseeing/ in the hills and are planning a few days in Kathmandu post trek. If not is it easy and quick to get one in Kathmandu as independent trekkers?

In addition how does the below itinerary sound with regards to acclimatisation? Thanks in advance

Day 1 Lukla -Phakding
Day 2- Phakding to Namche
Day 3- Acclimatisation day in Namche
Day 4- Hike to Phortse Tanga
Day 5- Hike to Dole
Day 6- Hike to Machermo
Day 7- Acclimatisation day in Machermo
Day 8- Hike to Gokyo
Day 9- Gokyo Ri
Day 10- Spare day around Gokyo
Day 11- Gokyo- Namche
Day 12- Namche- Lukla

Depends on your aims, but seems a long way to go, for such a short time, in such a great place. Don't underestimate how good Gokyo can be. We spent 7 nights there, and didn't get to do all the stuff we wanted to do. If you need ideas check out this from about 22:30: youtube.com/watch?v=cRKboyEINqo&

But whatever you end up doing, have a load of fun. I'm sure it is impossible not to
