Pyrenees to Alps by public transport?

Any ideas from how to get from the Pyrenees to Chamonix via public transport? I fear it might be easier to travel via the UK but I'd like to avoid that and go by train but I've no idea where to start!

"where in the Pyrenees ?" - good question, not sure yet but I think I can get a lift to a train station or Toulouse...

Apparently Toulouse to Chamonix is 11 hours by train (change in Lyon and Saint-Gervais-les-Bains) according to the SNCF website (https://uk.voyages-sncf.com/en/#/).
