There's a Sea King farewell fly-past happening just now:

It was apparently quite impressive over Glasgow; it's still possible to see them pass today elsewhere, if you time it right (see map in link).

Due to pass Stirling in 15 minutes or so.

It had some company.

I could hear their thrum reverberating across the strath long before I could spot them; they did a circuit of the Wallace Monument and Castle before moving on. Glad I nipped out to see it!

Spotted over Corstorphine hill from sighthill then again off towards the pentlands. 2 seakings and a Wessex by the looks.

I saw it in Stirling, but didn't know what it was about. Thanks for sharing

Very close formation as they flew over Alloa on their way down the Forth. They picked the blue sky day for it!

I saw them from Bo'ness as they flew down the Forth. Blue skies and snowy Ochils in the background, very nice. There were people lined up along Panbrae Road taking pics, obviously they were waiting for them. I had no idea what it was about till I read this thread, impressive sight nonetheless and I'm glad I saw it.

I don't remember such a fuss when the old Westland Whirlwind(?) was discontinued. It must have operated as long as the Sea Kings?

The significance that the service has now been contracted out from the military rather than the helicopter retired.

Ah OK, thanks.
