Stonking mixed conditions over the past week. Headline ascent was James Sutton leading the whole of Crack of Dawn for it's FWA, grade VIII. Brother Doug on his 3rd winter route but has previous with Con's Cleft & Smear last year
In total I think there have been 8 new routes already in the first 4 days of the Skye Winter Festival as well as folk enjoying some grand outings to the tops.
The powder isn't criminal and has started to settle down nicely. Damp at the tops yesterday and a tiny warm blip today should all help with consolidation and make the ridge crest pretty damn good. Forecast for high pressure & cold ahead- text book potential???

Thanks. Not difficult given I'm in clover just now.

I don't think he needs to. I was working in Portree today. The Cuillin looked outstanding. Sgurr nan Gilean rimed up, what more can you want?
