Something tells me this guy isn't just after a anti venom as an end result.

I kind of get the idea that he's really really addicted to the pain.

I've recently finished reading a book out the library by Venom Doc - Bryan Greig Fry, really interesting going into the medical uses of assorted venoms, though he also comes across as a bit potty and has had some close calls and lost a few friends to snakebite.
I would recommend the book as quite an eye opener regards Venom, worth a visit to your local library.

Seems pretty popular as a herpetology subculture, there's a guy in London does it for its health benefits, started injecting venom to give him some resistance if he had an accident. Okay found a doc but I think he has YouTube channel.
