Hi Dave

This is my favourite walk in the lakes, as we often go to Keswick.

Did you go up Grasmoor as well - great views into Buttermere valley.

Hope you had a beer or two afterwards.

Cheers Davey

Yeah, mine too. It's relatively quiet midweek, and I chose to ascend Grizedale from Whinlatter. Shorter and much more pleasant. It always gives a wilderness feel and the col between Hobcarton and Crag Hill is smashing. Never had such conditions on it. As good as anything really given the neve and sun. Precarious descent from crag hill always gives me the heebies!

Not time for that and I was concerned on getting off in the daylight.

Several. Bus from Braithwaite and straight to Bank Tavern

Thanks

Sounds like a great day.

I normally return via Causey Pike, then down to Hawes End and get the launch back to Keswick. Although it's a fair walk back if you miss the last slot!

Sounds just like it was on Monday on Helvellyn - stunning!
Lots of photos to go through when I get home
In reply to Dave the Rave:

Did it on Saturday.
One of the best walks in the Lakes.
Even she enjoyed it.
So did our mad, wild, killer lurcher.

Nice. It's such a pleasant route I rarely do much else when in Keswick. The buses to Braithwaite seem half hourly so easily done.

In great condition. Went up Helvellyn from Grasmere, down Swirral then back up Striding -was almost tempted to go round again!
