Good evening,

I am going walking in Chamonix valley again this coming May half term, last year a couple of us went for a day on the Mer de Glace playing about in the Grand Canyon. This year I'd like to take them elsewhere if possible.

They are both climbers so being on the end (either end) is fine, and I would only do single pitch stuff. It would need to be fairly easy to get to as most of the lifts have stopped for the between season maintenance. So the MdG is a great venue, I just fancied somewhere different.

I've heard that the Bosson glacier can be fun, but is much more unstable, also the Tour Glacier near the Albert Premier hut but I have no idea how to get to that and what it even looks like

Your thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks, Tony

B...y hell mate. The Bosons glacier has been lethal for at least 30 years.

Fun in the same way running across a motorway is fun?

Message received and understood I don't have a death wish!

Anyone any suggestions? Or is this why the MdG is so popular a venue?

Thanks TtB

I reckon you've hit the nail on the head - the MdG is quite a freindly glacier really.
