Hoping someone who Djs here can help me out,

I'm djing at a climbing competition coming up and I've used controllers and CDJs previously at the venue and its safe to say after 4 hours they are distinctly whiter from all the chalk. I was hoping to bring control vinyl to the next event and was wondering if anyone had used it before at an indoor wall. If I keep brushing it will it be alright or do you think the chalk will ruin it and the needle?

Thanks

How about a couple of fans?

Yeh that sounds like a pretty solid plan actually

Well if you think it'll help I'll get his face printed on my tshirt and keep cheering for him throughout his set.

And take a friend, obviously. He'll need a fan for each deck I think.

I'm not sure what control vinyl is but assuming you're actually playing music from the disks they won't be out accumulating dust for long and you can always put the covers down on the decks when you're not actually mixing. Chalk is soft, it's not likely to harm your needles. It's more likely to cause problems in an optical reader like a CD player or something with a complex cooling system like a laptop.
