Continuing with our theme of Tasmanian sea pillars this week, a new video has just been released of pro-climbers and newly-weds Katharina Saurwein and Jorg Verhoeven sampling five of Tasmania's classic pillars: Totem Pole, Moai, Pole Dancer, Pole Axed, and Albert's Tomb.
They all looked like they were bolted into submission.
Totem pole having at least a bottom bolted belay.
Pity as it looks the ultimate adventurous climbing for those with the skills...
On the plus side the bolting in Tassie is done well (stainless glue-ins IIRC) - the routes also take quite a commitment to get to and weather is changeable (at best) - as pure adventure routes, yep they would be great trad, but at least this way we get some traffic.
