That was the best climbing vid I've seen in a very long time! Sadly old enough to remember the original film when it came out too.

I wonder if the penny'll drop when I say climbing walls didn't look like that in 1984. Either that or a massive buzzer will go off, making me look a bit silly. Anyway, great fun and thanks for sharing.

Climbing walls were made out of concrete in 1984 and if you dived off from any height at all you would've broken your legs as there were no mats and the floors were concrete too. It was health and safety gone mad; there was none!
Also they hadn't invented stretchy jeans then so most of the moves would've involved a ripped crotch. Strictly Rons in those days.
The video is massive fun, by the way.

"Louis - now aged 24 - has fond memories of the 80's."

Really enjoyed that. Combines two of my favourite things. Footloose and watching climbing. I may be responsible for half the youtube view counts........

Great stuff and amazing climbing.

I'm wondering if Louis has done any calisthenics. Can't help but think he'd be rather good at it.

Can't be 1984, finger and core strength weren't invented till '86!

Thank you for reminding us that climbing is supposed to be fun. Climbing is like sex: forget what the world says; if it feels good, you're doing it right!

Me too, probably automated block by the YouTube bot - Louis can always try appealing the block in the true spirit of the original film :-p

Erm... Who the f*&k are SME? Any suggestions to get round this, aside from using Tor.

SME = Sony Music Entertainment

Messing up Entertainment since they missed the transition from media-based players to the net... (rootkit anyone)
