Has anyone been up Sharp Edge in the last couple of days? Wondering about going up tomorrow, but won't bother if the conditions are not appealing. Is it all good hard snow or ice at the moment or is it bare?

For a quick insight into Lake District conditions, look at the met office website for mountain weather. There a 'Ground Conditions' tab with a really good daily report on conditions up Helvellyn (so Swirrel and Striding Edges) which should give you an idea what to expect around Sharp Edge as well.

I just wish the 'Ground Conditions' reports for Snowdonia were as good...

If it's who I think it is he lives under it and that's the dog's morning run!

Looking across from Helvellyn yesterday there wasn't much snow on Blencathra. Helvellyn and the Scafells were well covered above 2000ft, with a thin spatter on Fairfield and quite a bit on the higher parts of Coniston Old Man and Bowfell. The snow on Helvellyn was largely perfect neve with quite a bit of ice.
