Sony RX100 Mk.I - dawn/dusk pics?

Hi there - I'm a newbie and hope it's OK to ask a basic question about my Sony RX100 Mk.I which I love -
I'm generally super-impressed at the quality of pics in a range of light except dawn/dusk, where I can only get 'true' colours of the sky by using Program mode and turning down darkness or backlight settings, meaning everything on the ground just goes black. The 'sunset' setting doesn't cut it either IMHO. Questions:
1. Has anyone worked out better settings for dawn/dusk pics? Even general principles would be helpful.
2. Is dawn/dusk better in the Mk.II onwards? If so, which model is best performance/value for this? I'm not bothered with any other RX100 feature upgrades as my Mk.I is pretty much perfect already.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
