Can anyone recommend a campsite in the Peak suitable for a group, reasonably near some climbing, and with a fire pit? Thanks, Brian.

Hi Brian. A difficult mix of requirements; The Miner's Standard pub in Winster has camping attached, & allowed fires when I last stayed (3 years ago; sedate stag do), & is close to the climbing around Matlock. Ticks all your boxes.
Campsites allowing fires in the grit stone parts of the Peak are much harder to find (fires are not really allowed). You can try searching on ukcampsites website - enter open fires as a requirement. Nik

Have you tried hardhurst farm at Aston?

Hardhurst Farm in Hope is a relaxed site that allows groups although sadly no longer allows campfires..
