Nexus 7(2012) to Digital Projector

I've got a slideshow saved on my Nexus 7 tablet. Does anyone know for certainty if, by using a Slimport or some other suitable connection, I can run the show through a digital projector?

According to the article, Slimport will work for the 2nd generation Nexus 7. Otherwise, you'd be looking at Chromecast for the 1st generation version.

I'd consider using a chromecast. They work pretty well the 2012 Nexus 7 in my experience.
