Anyone going to climb at Newtyle, Dunkeld, might be alarmed at the big new access track that has been bulldozed into the quarry in the last few days.
I certainly was, so I contacted the owner who said that he was extracting a small amount of stone to construct a hardstanding at a nearby farm to keep silage off wet ground. He knows that climbing takes place in the quarry and said that he had no intention of restricting access for climbers.
This sounds okay but if anyone encounters access problems then please contact the MCofS or myself.
