Any recommendations for low exposure scrambles in the southern lakes? Thinking the like of Kilnshaw chimney or Long Crag Buttress. Preferably not ghylls, monster walkins or honeypots. Ta
Kilnshaw chimney is better as a winter route, will be chossy without the snow.
Long crag is a good choice.
The Cicerone scrambles guide has loads of options though and well worth buying if you're planning a few scrambles
Easy gully on Dow crag. Low water beck on Coniston is amazing but it is a little wet on the start. Not sure why you'd write off ghylls as many of the best are as such.
S side of Coniston Old Man has lots of linkable easy outcrops, Green Crag & Crook Crag between Eskdale & Dunnerdale are brill, the slabs on White Gill N of Coniston are fun (when it's not raining), as is Raven Crag across the road. All in the Cicerone guide.
