Seathwaite Borrowdale parking

We have a timeless traditional privilege to occasionally park at Seathwaite unhindered by the thought police and big brother - rightly so.
Our responsibility is to park with consideration, i.e. Le Mans style, nose-in. Use the space efficiently, as close as possible together so space is not wasted, without leaving plastic bags of dog-dirt, other rubbish etc which seems commonplace now there and elsewhere. We need to consider the locals.

In reply to Dave Cumberland:

I wish someone would do the same at the Roaches. Yesterday everyone seemed to want 2.5m between cars which is just, well, annoying on a lovely day.

Sadly though the police seem to regard ticketing here as a sport in its own right on a sunny Sunday.

In reply to Dave Cumberland:

Sadly Seathwaite is now affected by the 3-Peaks brigade, who seem to have more than their fair share that think parking a minibus lengthwise across several spaces is OK, then using the area behind the van to stand around socialising.
In reply to Simon Caldwell:
Well I kind of agree all those challenges are highly damaging. We should go back to traditional sports of terrier racing, Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, Fell racing, hound trailing and others too sensitive to mention.

and some racing on Racecourse Hill? Grand day out that would be.

In reply to Dave Cumberland:
Seems like a more modern selfish attitude, taking up several spaces by not parking on the diagonal.
Or is it just ignorance.

and other folk trying to park.

There, Dave , sorted now.

In reply to Rick Graham:
I suppose most climbers have good spatial awareness, although you would never guess that at Seathwaite. I do know some appalling drivers who are climbers too. Not including myself of course.

Couldn't agree more Dave. Drives me nuts (As do a lot of things). Its a mixture of both selfishness and ignorance. I think the regulars get it but its the day trippers and bloody 3 peakers that are oblivious.

In reply to mattlee:
A dry weekend is coming, great climbing conditions.
