Anybody able to recommend an external microphone for a GoPro which will be mounted to a gimbal that can reduce the sound of wind?

Depends on how bad the wind is and what sort of budget you have but a Rode video/micro mic isn't a bad option.

Just in case anybody is interested, I have found a cracking little microphone for my Gopro which cost a princely £5-39

Its not a professional mic, but it does keep the breeze noises down and makes stuff sound better. I may still invest in a Rode as well.
