For Easter-
Pretty massive variation in seriousness depending on aspect and how temperatures go in the coming week. The Ridge crest is almost snow free BUT.....
Pinnacle Ridge of Gillean was definitely crampon territory on Saturday 19th, superbly alpine feel and intimidating, especially at the gap between 3rd & 4th pinnacles when rope doesn't quite reach the spike in the col (60m rope would).
Snow slope below the Pinn is okay in ascent but bit bold without cramps or at least axe in descent. Will keep posted about this one in particular.
Descent of Great Stone Shoot is okay but may change if snow hardens.
Extensive snow fields in Bhasteir corrie to watch out for and less so Fionn Choire.
Clach Glas/ Bla Bheinn is snow free except foot of 80ft chimney so fine without C&Axe.
Although late starting it's been the most glorious winter I've known up here; glad that so many of you came & discovered what a great winter playground it is.
