That's just 5 minutes from here and I have used his shop a few times. Friendly guy, always polite and asking how you were. Sympathies to his family.

That's shocked me. We went to drive down the street this morning to get petrol at M&S nearby and the street was closed. Didn't think this was at all probable. I know people have preconceptions (i.e. no clue) about Glasgow: this shop is on a nice street in a nice area. We even made some joke reference to Luther (watching the box set) and unlikely psychos.

We also were on the M74 coming home when a police car made a van pull off the motorway just in front of us. Looking in as we passed there was two men of Asian appearance. No idea if connected with the attack but it's not something you see everyday.

In reply to Flinticus:

I know the shop too, although I've never been in it. A colleague lives just along the road and was really shocked when he read the news this morning. It's hard to believe that such a crime could happen at that time of the evening on such a main road. Surely they'll catch the culprits quickly.

In reply to Fraser:

Not been in recently but used to walk past it on the way to Queens Park with my dog Flint and would pop in for a magnum or choc. Usually end up buying some morning rolls too.

Terrible: seems he was killed for, basically, being too nice and peaceful, of initial reports are a good indication. What's wrong with some people?
