Just a word of warning about the approach to La Crevata via the second col as described in the rockfax guidebook. On our return journey as we got to the bottom of the scramble a large block came loose above us, and hit one of our group on the head. 5 staples were needed in the scalp, but no broken bones, and they are recovering well.

We would also like to say a big thank you to American John for helping us back up to the car park, everyone who helped out and of course the emergency services.

Please take care on the approach/return.

Jack

In reply to Jack.H.92:

Blimey, that must have been scary. I remember thinking the rock at La Creveta was generally sound, and all the time we were out in Mallorca last month we were in the minority of helmet wearers. Never occurred even to uber cautious me that it would be a good idea on approach too. Glad nothing more serious than a serious scalp laceration occurred on this occasion. Any thoughts on what triggered the block?

In reply to Snoweider:

There had been some rain the night before and a little during the day which could have contributed, but no ideas other than that. There was no one above us.
