Group Single Pitch Climbing Rutland

I am looking to take groups out for a day/afternoon regularly and was hoping someone could recommend some good single pitch areas with easy to mid range climbing that is nearish to Rutland (Nottingham, Leicester area) Travelling to the Peaks is doable but was hoping for something closer. Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

I suspect the Peak District will be the nearest decent area for you I'm afraid. Not exactly a lot of climbing around Rutland area.

Charnwood area - north-west Leicestershire. Natural rock is mainly boldering the single pitch climbing is nearly all quarried, some good rock some awful.

If people haven't climbed before then taking them to some choss-fest in Leicestershire is doing them a disservice.

It's worth investing a little in the drive time to get to a venue that will offer choice and they will enjoy thir introduction to the sport.

On second thoughts, the last thing we need is more climbers. Any disused chalk quarry should be fine.

It's really not very far to get to beginner-friendly venues like Harborough.
