I recently sent a fingerboard via myhermes, even though it was well wrapped they still managed to break it! & now theyre saying it is classed under ceramics so I can't claim, has anyone else had a similar experience..

They're made of wood, aren't they? Wood is not a ceramic.

Assuming it's a molded one then it's a cast thermosetting polymer, 'plastic', not a ceramic. Bamboozling with sciency words works both ways (all the better when you're actually right). Stand your ground... or just glue it back together.
