Apparently there's going to be a new Stone Roses single released this evening.

I'm one of the weird ones who thinks their second album is quite good, so in the same spirit of adventure, I'm quite looking forward to hearing it!

... This latest music is supposedly their first new material since 1995. I'm a bit concerned that they might be overworking themselves.

Their new single has just been on 6Music....and it sounds like The Charlatans!

The best Stone Roses Album is the B sides etc 'Turns Into Stone'. The Second Coming is the sound of a band suddenly hit with money and vast amounts of cocaine while realising they hate each other!

Its just had a replay on radioX.
6 1/2 out of 10

Better than the new manics track which they played earlier. But not as good as the new(ish) Iggy track which sounds like Bowie in his lets dance days.

I knew I'd heard that riff before. The Fall had a seafood thing around then, Mollusc In Tyrol is on the same album.

Surprises me to say it,but I think I have outgrown The Stone Roses.

Conjuring up images of Ian Brown swaggering around in some retro casual gear,and Mani being Mani,I just think;

Nah .Not for me.

Musically ,I am fairly certain I have moved on.and discovered a varied and beautiful catalogue of music from the dim and distant past. Oh,and the present.
