Nicky Spinks is attempting to become only the 2nd person, and first female, to do the double ( 2 BGRs in under 48 hours ) this weekend.

Can't even imagine what's in your mind as you set out on that...........

Wow. Absolutely mind boggling!

In reply to steelbru:

That is some effort. She seems to be going well but early days still perhaps.

In reply to Phil1919:

Strange how it's done, turning at yewbarrow and then going back to Keswick and back out and back the other way.. It's how Baumeister did it to supposedly.
In reply to steelbru:

And I was feeling nervous before my fast 8 miler this morning. And it is flat.

Human endurance can sometimes baffle the mind.

2.5 hours up now at Dunmail - 19:54 as opposed to published schedule of 22:25

The published schedule was for 47 hours, but I wonder what she is actually aiming for, bet it's at least lower than Baumeister's time of 46 something

Looking at it I think it is quite a clever idea.

But its in the mind of course isn't it. My body doesn't know whether it could manage a Bob Graham because my mind won't let it try.

Nice to see Jasmin supporting on leg 1
In reply to steelbru:

Blimey. Good effort. Cracking weekend for it.

Was up on hellvellyn and the dodds today (a few hours behind her and dropping back rapidly). Very dry

Yeah, I thought it was odd until explained to me. But I don't know the lakes.

Maybe, I think Nicky knows her body, but she will slow due to fatigue and damage. Add sickness.

But she's the toughest person I know so she's a very very good chance now.

I wonder how she's feeling at the moment. Great conditions still.

She is cruising...keep it up.

A dramatic day for sport today (if you're interested in footie and F1!).

However I'm hoping Nicky has the last word

She appears to have stopped for a cup of tea... Hoping the tracker's just momentarily lost connectivity and we're going to see it leap forward. I imagine there'll be quite a welcome in Keswick this evening...

In reply to Tall Clare:

Tracking just updated - she's on the move, definitely on road section

What an amazing person she is!

Its superb.

Nicky has talent, but she works so so hard, organizes, trains, rehearses.. she puts so much into these challenges.

I'm now no longer surprised as when she announces these challenges its pretty much a given that she will have researched, trained and organized things to perfection. She sets a great example.
