Interesting - I've passed this on. I suspect the successful candidate will have prior experience with other NT properties.

No - the application pack cost £15. Worth £150 years rent.

Is that like Jeremy Hunt's NHS costings projections where £135 come from efficiency savings?

They want someone with farming, and more specifically shepherding experience.

Unfortunately this limits it somewhat as I know a few people who'd like to have crack at it and would probably be very good.

There were over 700 interested the day after it was on the news.

Well assuming the rent stays the same, its just simple multiplication.

No, it's winter for about 10 months of the year there!

There was an opportunity for the NT to do something braver here - more sustainable, more extensive management. I appreciate there are a couple of important species here, but I don't think effectively employing a subsidised micro manager is the answer. But hey ho, they didn't half get some media hits from the story.
