Auchinstarry QuarryRed Lead (VS 5a)

Anyone know anything about the big white arrows that have appeared showing the route on Red Lead at Auchinstarry Quarry? I didn't take a closer look at them but I sure hope it's chalk and not paint, it'd be a shame to have defaced one of the most enjoyable climbs at this crag.

Hopefully not by the same numpty who used permanent marker on one of the easy car park routes showing where to place gear!

Nah I forgot and had to rush for a train, but there are a few big arrows (roughly a foot long) showing where the route starts, where the traverse goes and where the hidden crack is

Saw these today. Looks ridiculous - can't understand the rationale..

Is marking routes any different from covering all the holds with white chalk?

I would have thought so unless you mean covering holds intentionally rather than as a residual remnant.

I saw the arrows the other day. One was pointing to a chalk line which marked the key holds.

There is the possibility that they were there to assist someone with special needs. You never know.
