This weekend I could do one last long run of 30 miles before the race I am doing (which would be just under 3 weeks away after the weekend).

Question is will there be any benefit of one more long run or will it possibly be more detrimental being less than 3 miles before the race?

Thanks in advance

It's very hard to say unless you tell us what the race is, how many long runs you've done with what spacing, condiions and so on.

Is the 30 hard for you?

In reply to wbo:

Race is 70 miles in Andorra with 9000m climbing.

30m is my longest run in training and I am fine doing it

Cheers

If you're in decent condition it should be fine.

Not much use doing long runs, but it would be good to get some long climbs and technical descents in. Don't underestimate the downhills.

Opened this expecting a thread about Joss Naylor's 30 mile trot from Caldbeck to Wasdale to celebrate his 80th (!) birthday this weekend.
