Matterhorn in August

what are people's thoughts on boots for the Matterhorn in August? have been advised that B2 are fine but some now say it should be B3?

I did it in B2 boots years ago. Although there was some snow it was ok.

Did the Italian Ridge in a par of KSBs. Didn't take crampons. It was a dry year ... 1992?
