Hello

If, BIG IF, the weather is half decent this weekend I'm going to go camping near Tryfan and want to do a day of hiking a day of sport climbing. Could anyone recommend me some areas to try out within about an hours drive of here?

I'll lead 6a comfortably but would ideally like grades at that and a bit lower if there's anything like that around.

Many thanks for any advice!

Sport climbing and Tryfan in the same sentence - OMG!

Within an hour you've got the slate and all the A55 sport crags plus the Orme, but that's not the best at 6a.

Hi, thanks, could you name me some of the slate places? I've never climbed on slate...

Bus Stop, The Sidings etc.

Have a browse through the UKC logbooks.

Isn't Munich a partial sport's climb as it used to have one peg?
Serious answer is Castle Inn quarry, and usually better weather.

Castle Inn is a fantastic venue, F3 to 7b I think. Plenty at the lower end.
