I have a youtube video which has had 100,000 views over the last 3 years. Today I was contacted by Junkin Media, who are a company who make money by buying the rights, or agreeing a revenue share for user generated content. They have offered me a 60:40 revenue share for the lifetime of the video, with me getting 60%. My 100,000 views have earned me a little over £50 from youtube, so i'm thinking that I would rather have 60% of something a bit bigger, than £50 every 3 or 4 years from youtube.

The chap gave me a fairly hard sell, about how I could make $250-$500 for every tv show which uses the clip, and he listed a couple of shows, who he thought would be very interested. He also talked about how they would promote the clip on their channel which has 10,000,000 subscribers, getting loads of extra views and hence revenue.

The hard sell, and the call out of the blue makes me nervous, but I can't really see the catch.

Am I missing something?

If anyone is interested, here is the clip. youtube.com/watch?v=hMdrAX70sFM&

I'd take it. All publicity is good publicity.
