Hi All,

After a bit of advice for the upcoming Chamonix trip. Does any one know how feasible a traverse of the Aiguille D'Entreves is if approached by doing the Vallee Blanche traverse from Aiguille du Midi first? Want to know realistically how long it'll take and how much we may have in hand in order to get back to the Helbronner lift station...

Google shows about 3-4 hours for the Vallee Blanche and 2-3 hours for the ridge traverse so sounds like it might be cutting it a bit fine to get back to Cham at the end of the day... (Plan would be to get the panoramic cable car back across to the Midi)

Any advice much appreciated!

Cheers

If you take the first lift up Aiguille du Midi in the morning you'll be fine imo.
Worst case scenario you can take the lift down to Courmayeur and take a bus back or stay at the Torino and do something else the next day before going home.

Should be fine as long as you keep moving quickly. The last cablecar from Helbronner is usually at 4.30 on the dot, and the walk from the ridge to the Helbronner is under an hour. It's a great ridge!

Good stuff, thanks for the info. Sounds like it could be a plan... The ridge does look great!

There are lots ridges in the northern French Alps with more and better climbing.

It's the overall setting of glacier approach and Mont Blanc scenery that make the Aiguille d'Entreves special.
