Hi,
Does anyone have any advice regarding if there is public accommodation at the top station of the Klein Matterhorn lift in Zermatt? Heading out in September and keen to get an earlier start than the first lift allows but can't find any online info.
When we were there last year there seemed to be lots of parties out before we arrived on the first lift of the day.
Any info appreciated, thanks.

Cheers.
This looks like the place. Good for an early start hopefully.
Thanks again

The Cervinia guides hut, a little lower, will be cheaper and has Italian friendliness!

Thanks all.
Good idea. Will check the Cervinia hut out. We are staying in Zermatt so possibly a bit less accessible for us.
We are keen on trying to get to Pullux or Brithhorn full/part traverse but with an early start and so avoiding the rush to catch the last lift home.

Very easy. Half an hour down from KM, or a bit more up the ski piste format Trockener Steg, saving you more money!

Easily possible from the Cervinia guides hut, in fact Pollux and Castor combined is possible too.

There are two ways to get to it. Take the lift to Trocknersteg and walk up the Theodul glacier (very easy ski piste) or go all the way to Klein Matterhorn and walk down to it. The latter is rather pointless as you have to retrace your steps in the morning - adding on about an hour, so it's probably only an interesting option if you can't get into Klein Matterhorn for the night.

What about the Theodule Hut? Surely that still exists?

Lower and further away, if slightly cheaper.

Cervinia? I think you mean the Val d'Ayas Guides' hut.

Handiest of all for Breithorn, Pollux and Castor (and cheapest) is the Rossi e Volante bivouac hut, a very decent doss, holds about 10 or so.
