Just had a week in Wales camping. We stayed in my mates new tent which was bought cheap on flea bay.

All went well until the midges arrived! Covered in the bastards, with more inside the tent than outside. The tent is an American make but probably made in China. My question is the mesh walls appear to let midges through, is there different size midges in the US? It spoiled the trip you had to bury yourself in your sleeping bag and cook or get covered in them.

I have a Marmot base camp tent which cost 3 times the cash and is brilliant midge free zone. We're using that next time.
