Found Cheap Campsite at Swanage - California Campsite
We thought all campsites to be expensive near Swanage, however discovered the California Campsite, which there appears to be no mention of on UKC. It's basic, with zero showers, grotty toilets and just one tap, however is just two fields walk away from Cattle Troughs, Boulder Ruckle, and Subliminal areas. They charge £8 per pair sharing a smallish tent, so £4 per person. Apparently you can't book, just turn up early. It's up a dirt track that extends south beyond the south-west corner of Swanage Bay View Caravan Park, just before you get to the quarry.
Anyone know of anywhere cheaper, or better for the money around Swanage? I can't find any inexpensive campsites near Portland??
Though still nothing on the Pembrokeshire Bosherston campsite, at £3/night with cold shower and clean toilets!
