How strong do winds have to be to cancel ferries?

There's a bunch of us travelling to Mull on Sunday to run a half-marathon. Current forecast is for wind gusts in excess of 40mph. One of our party is wondering about possible ferry cancellations. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks - that was my feeling too, but one of our party is a bit nervous around anything seagoing.

Good advice. It's not just the strength of the wind, but it's direction and the state of tide that's running. Lots of factors they take account of.
