I think it's Windows 8 I am using. How do I go about removing it so it's not there once they're printed?

Many thanks.

Is this a footer? Just delete it if you don't want it, surely?

If I knew how to delete it, I already would have done.

Can you tell me how? What one is familiar with isn't always obvious to other people.

Thanks.

Enter the footer area. Hightlight it (all) and press delete works for me. Maybe it is not a footer.

Depends on your view in word. look under view>header/footer if you can't see it on normal text. Turning on the annotation display (looks like a backwards "P") may help understand what's going on.

If all else fails open new document and copy and paste content from old one

Thinks it's click on tools and in the drop down box thee should be a header/footer option. Click on that then see what it says

If it's a header or footer, it won't print that unless you actively type something into it.
A bit like he sqwuiggly lines under mispelt words. It's on the screen but won't print onto the paper.

Try printing it out?

If that doesn't work then go into header/footer options and delete it, as stated above.
