Garmin Support - experiences

Recently there was a post praising Garmin support (http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=646924). I can only think they are in another country or work for the company as I cannot get an answer from them after the third acknowledged email.

What are others experiences of this? I am getting a bit narked.

I have had less than satisfactory relations with them in the past though fortunately have not had to use them for a while. They seemed very reluctant to respond and when they did it was very formulaic and not specific enough to my question. In the end I resorted to de-install/re-install approaches to fix an app issue.

Ditto, they quickly resolved a problem with my Nuvi SatNav that it didn't have detailed roads in parts of Europe despite their adverts - they updated all the maps.

Emails - I suspect they subcontract support to Microsoft
