I was at a wedding recently, and took some snaps on a partially full 16gb card .
However later in the evening one of my daughters deleted the entire card , and long story short, I was told today that all was well and all the 'recovered' photo files were on to storage device I was given .
( including several trips I had before the wedding, which was a relief. )

But it was only partially true that they were allrecovered, as when I loaded them onto my laptop I found that , whilst they pretty much all look ok on the preview view , when I open some of them, there are large areas of block Grey ( like a partially closed curtain) obscuring some of the photos . As the preview is ok, has anyone any ideas how I can see ( recover) the entire view of rest of the photos when I click to open them ?

I've had similar corrupted images where the thumbnail was complete but the image was not.

I seem to remember that the thumbnail was a completely different part of the file and that it being visible is no guarantee that the full image itself is complete or available.

I got most of them, so all is not lost.
