Team GB are currently on 56 medals, 9 less than in London, but they have 2 further boxing medals and a hockey medal guaranteed and opportunities of more in diving, triathlon, taekwondo, modern pentathlon, golf, sprint canoeing and athletics.

Will the hold China off for second place on the table and will they be the first country to increase their medal count after a home games.

Where there is a will there is a way.
Team GB seem to have a lot of will.

Apologies to Nick Skelton for missing you off my list of potential medalists.

Don't think so - it'll be close but not quite.

It's astonishing. Quality in depth and breadth of sports. If you think back to the dark days of Atlanta it is an incredible turnaround.

Remember the media bashing the Aussies gave us in 2000...

They answered my question. They did it, 66 medals and a further gold or silver guaranteed tonight.
