Is it a pure translation of the French one or an updated and revised guidebook? Seem to recall something about how the English one would be released once the guide for the area was fully complete and that the French one was essentially an incomplete guide to the area and a revised French guide would be released alongside the English release. May be getting this all wrong though!

No, it's a completely updated/revised definitive guide with new sectors and many new routes. The original Aigs Rouges 2 Light in French was just an interim guide. There is no French version of this one, it exists only in English.
